9-19-2024 Lesson 1, Day 4, morning session. Roxanne/Lena @ CV

Well, despite a few timing/connection hiccups, I was able to work lovely Lena this morning.  Today, she was MUCH better about her check-in's (looking, watching me as I moved) and she even ignored the foolish, barking dogs across the street. Man, those dogs need training!

I opted to work in this 'alley' between picnic tables even though the ground was concrete. Normally, you don't work a dog on a hard surface like this for Longe Line, however, Lena is wonderfully compliant and has done exceptionally well this week so I felt I could keep her safe.

Then, we moved to doing Longe Line in a small alley in the mulch by the playground.

 Cool-down

Then, we did a simple backtie so I could put away equipment in my truck and keep Lena safe while doing so.

Time for Quiet Time

Success!!

Best of all, when Suzanne came to get Lena, I Longe Lined her and used Suzanne as my Planted Distraction!  It only took a few tiny corrections for Lena to choose to stay with me.

She's such an intelligent dog.
